The big events are the ones that make us feel good: birthday celebrations, promotions, vacation time, graduation days, etc. While growing up, I came to learn that the more monumental events of life are concealed in the small unnoticed moments that are often neglected.
There is a certain magic to the smell of coffee brewing at dawn when the house is still. Walking down in the afternoon and feeling the warmth of the sun on your skin is magical. There is some joy in the utterly mundane versus any sublime event; in that light, a loud, casual laugh with a friend wins hands down.
Offline moments also rank among the most cherished, even after they have come and gone.
We forget happiness resides in the small stones because we're too busy chasing its fading torch light. I'm trying to slow down and enjoy little things like a homemade meal, listening to rain outside my window, and occasionally smiling at strangers. These quiet, small moments are where I feel the most alive. Flattening and Bursting-Worth Ponderousnnered.
